Rhythm

Edinburgh International Film Festival / New York Experimenta / Berlin Experimenta Docs

'…the audiences were blown away, this was true experimenta film, in its most exciting form..' Berlin Film Review Magazine 2001.

An experimental film shot on 16mm, Rhythm explores the human body in movement.

Three bodies in motion are taken as subjects: those of a boxer, a dancer and a drummer, all with their distinctive forms of energy release.

With a melodic percussion serving as the initial driving force, the pace steadily rises to a crescendo with the three bodies finally merging to become a single blended movement.

Rhythm poetically explores movement and rhythm through distinctive lighting and fast editing, showing how different motions of the body originate from a common centre point.
