Peggy for Peace
Peggy Preston is an English pensioner who lives alone in a tiny council
flat in central London. She is also a peace campaigner who believes in
“saying it with her feet” and has done so in some of the most brutal
conflicts this century.
A young radio WAAF in the Second World War, Peggy later became an
occupational thereapist and spent time as a nurse and peace campaigner in
Vietnam, South Africa, Bosnia and the Gulf. Despite chronic athuritis and
being persued by the Gas Board, Peggy recently returned to Iraq as part of
the small volunteer ‘Gulf Peace Team’.
Using still photography and interviews, Peggy for Peace portrays an
eccentric and determined lady who has dedicated her life to others.
